Nogas Island

       During the day, Nogas is a popular tourist destination that faces Siraan Hot Spring. The Philippine Coast Guard's lighthouse installation is the sole permanent man-made building. Visitors can reach the lighthouse immediately from the Calachuchi plantation via a cleared pathway. offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding white sand and coral-lined beaches from its spiral staircase at the summit. Mangrove trees abound in the heart of the island beneath the lighthouse. The soft corals that adorn the shoreline give the island's eastern side a slightly rugged appearance. However, swimmers are invited to try the pristine water on the opposite side. The island is home to over 32 different kinds of birds, including some uncommon ones. The "tabon" Megapodius, a flightless bird that lays its eggs on the ground, is in danger of going extinct.
